I loved how it was made with just footage of Michael and his life, and the voices of those in his life just talking about their time with him. I was so emotional at the end I could not hold back my tears for such a beautiful human being.
So grateful to see this documentary about a man and his his band who brought so much joy in their music to so many. Gorgeous man. Just an exceptionally attractive and alluring man.

It's clear that MH was deeply troubled and suffered poor mental health. It's clear that he was exploited by many over the years. It's also clear that INXS were a pop band that was nothing without Michael and Paula was not the world's best influence.
In the end though the doc is very one sided/whitewashed bringing nothing new to the table. Прекрасная работа, детально прописанный портрет лидера группы INXS Майкла Хатченса — эталонной рок-звезды, одного из самых ярких, талантливых, харизматичных и сексуальных исполнителей 1980-1990 годов (и далее, если бы не…) с помощью членов его семьи (матери, отца, брата, старшей сестры, которая по сути воспитала Майкла), любимых женщин, с которыми связывали длительные отношения (Кайли Миноуг, Хелена Кристенссен, коллег по группе и друзей (Боно). Будучи поклонницей INXS в целом и Майкла Хатченса в частности, поражена, сколько нового довелось узнать. Но основные чувства, которые я испытываю — это опустошение и ощущение заново разбитого сердца. В фильме впервые рассказывается об инциденте, результатом которого стала серьезная травма, приведшая к ментальным изменениям Хатченса. Серфинг по зарубежным новостям подтвердил, что это не я 22 года со дня его смерти просидела в танке, а это действительно впервые обнародованная информация, и фильм, вышедший в середине 2019 года тут же разошелся на цитаты и информационные поводы. Остаётся только догадываться, почему нужно было ждать так долго? Сколько грязи было вылито на его имя после суицида, какое только белье не было вывернуто наружу, при том, что депрессия и соответствующие препараты, наркотики были не причиной, а следствием. Это яркий пример того, что ты можешь быть красивым, успешным, знаменитым, заставлять набитый битком Уэмбли заходиться в экстазе, но один роковой инцидент запустит твою жизнь под откос — сначала потихоньку, а потом все быстрее. Если бы не… Майкл Хатченс вполне мог быть среди нас до сих пор. И от этой запоздалой реабилитации становится только горше. В фильме огромное количество уникальных кадров, в том числе сделанных самим артистом. Нетипичный подход к монтажу. Картина была представлена на нескольких всемирно известных кинофестивалях. Для поклонников INXS фильм к просмотру просто строго обязателен. Впрочем, я думаю, фильм будет интересен любому человеку, который знает музыку 1980-1990х. His manager was like I know what he wanted to taste knowing Michael! Hell that's any straight woman loving man! That would be awful I could give up sex but not that! I never understood all the unbelievably beautiful women he was with and he ended up with Paula Yates! Wth was he thinking Helena Christianson, Kylie, etc. The only thing I could think of is because they both liked drugs and she let him do whatever he wanted! I'm by no means an expert on Michael or inxs but I just think she ruined him. I've always thought that she was just an enabler. I don't know why but I really think was a terrible person she was obviously only with geldoff for obvious reasons and then she upgraded.

I love Michael Hutchence as a musical artist and had read his biography "Lost boy of INXS" by his sister, Tina, which was an excellent read. Unfortunately for me, this documentary fell very short of expectations. We don't actually get to see or hear a lot of Michael, other than what's already out there on YouTube etc, and the editing was extremely choppy and disjointed. Sound quality was very bad too, with alternate scenes of closed captions and non-closed captions. I'm not old or deaf, but would have appreciated clarity on the muffled voice over. Save your money and wait for it to come on free TV then you can fall asleep at home in comfort.

Petrol  Records have announced the imminent arrival of a major new documentary film Mystify, which is set to honour the late Michael Hutchence, the globally acclaimed lead singer of INXS, who died in 1997. Mystify will premiere at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival in April. Concurrently, Petrol Records and international partner, Universal Music Group, will launch a major campaign for the film’s soundtrack which promises to include previously unreleased tracks  from the enigmatic late star and aim to introduce INXS to a new generation. The full-length film was written and directed by filmmaker Richard Lowenstein, who helmed some of the band’s early music videos. Lowenstein was promised definitive insight into Michael Hutchence, described as “one of Australia’s first international rock stars, who was regarded as a sex sympbol, a poet, shy, brash, charismatic, bohemian, a family man and a complex individual. ” On announcing Mystify, Petrol Records’ Chairman Christopher M. Murphy said: “INXS’ appeal wasn’t just confined to writing great songs or playing some of the best concerts I’ve ever seen. They always had their collective antennae up to the latest trends – whether they be music, fashion or technology – and that’s given their brand a fresh and lasting outlook. “Their legacy is growing every day, and a new generation of fans from around the world are discovering INXS. We are entering an exciting period of rediscovery of their legacy and a reassessment of their place in music history. ” In addition to Mystify, Petrol’s announcement comes at a busy time for the company is it continues work on the INXS X Building – an arts and innovation precinct to be located in New South Wales’ Ballina/Byron region.
